If you need help, define the role to help answer the question of whether you need to make a hire or to find a volunteer. Document processes and standardize the role you are looking for. 

Be clear with expectations. Do what you say you’re going to do.

Take it slow. Families are involved, it can get messy. It takes a toll on the team to go through the hiring process. 

 

Advice for those looking to be hired:

Be sold out on the vision because the role could change.

Don’t be afraid to ask the hard questions.

Look for patterns to see if they do what they say.

Recognize that you are stepping into a season of transition. 

Ask questions when you don’t understand.
